Father’s Day from Cordless Impact Driver HQ

With Father’s Day around the corner (Sunday, June 17th in case you were wondering…), sons and daughters around the country are looking for the perfect thing to show dad how much they appreciate what he’s done over the years.

With that in mind, here are a few ideas that a handy dad would love. While some make us drool (DeWALT Brushless 20v Driver anyone??), there are plenty of other great ideas for those with a smaller budget.

Impact Drivers

This is a site about cordless impact drivers, after all. So we thought that would be a good place to start.

As we mentioned, the DeWALT DCF895 Brushless is brand-spanking new, and it’s a beauty.

If dad doesn’t have an 18 or 20 volt impact driver, or you know he’s in the market for a new one, this would be a great surprise. Read our full review here.

This Milwaukee Combo Kit gives you 2 tools for the price of 1.

It comes with Milwaukee’s tough cordless drill and beefy M18 2650-20 driver (See our full review here).

If you don’t want to go quite that big, the Bosch PS41-2A is one of the best value buys around. A ton of power for a 12v, front LED, battery fuel gauge, and super maneuverable.

And don’t forget, you can get an extra $20 off all Bosch tools from Amazon through June 23rd. Our full review on the PS41

Dad might already be invested in a tool line -snoop around the shop or basement and see what kind of cordless tools he’s got. You can get a great deal on a bare-tool (one without batteries), usually for half the price of a full kit!

When you find the brand, check out the battery look for the kind (ni-cad/lithium ion) and the voltage. Check out the categories on the right to find a driver that matches!

Driver Accessories

You can never have too many bit sets, especially when it comes to impact drivers. Bits are always getting lost, stolen, borrowed, dropped or broken.

This DeWALT 80 piece set is one of the highest rated impact ready sets around.

It includes 17 black-oxide drill bits and a ton of industrial screwdriving/fastening bits. Comes with magnetic bit-tip tray and professional case to keep things organized.

Or try the Milwaukee 38 piece set which comes with hex-shank drill bits that will fit right into the driver.

Also comes with Quik-lok all-hex chuck, Titanium drill bits, double-ended bits, and magnetic nut-setters. Nice.

Other Ideas

I have one of these, and I love it. You can never have enough work surfaces, especially when working outside.

The Black & Decker WM425 Workmate folds up when it’s not needed, making it easy to carry and store, and pops up in no time when you need an extra table. You can even crank it together and clamp wood or tools to the top.

Also, right now through June 15 get $10 Off a $50 Black & Decker Purchase

A small but powerful blower, the Black & Decker Cordless Electric Broom can help keep sidewalks and driveways clear.

Super light-weight, this little blower isn’t for clearing your whole yard in the fall – but it’s a great way to quickly clean off cluttered areas without having to mess around with gas or long extension cords.

Who said sweeping the garage was a chore? He won’t know what he did without it!

Dad’s been working hard all year, give him something he relax with all summer long.

This set of 6 Libbey 22-1/2-Ounce Pilsner Glasses are tall and beautiful. Made with thick glass, they are even sturdy enough to go in the dishwasher.

Don’t forget to stop by the beer store and get something to fill them with, too!

This is a great write-up, I bought an impact driver for my father a few years ago and he loved it, he hadn’t used one before but ever since he won’t use anything else.

Thanks! I may be a bit biased I suppose, but they are great tools. And since dads love getting tools in general, how can you go wrong?
